Approximate Distance From Where You Are: 339.04 Kilometer

There is one day when the city's roads are flooded with crowds and famous dignitaries and deities. It is the time of the year when all of the mass attention is driven towards a single event. A 5000-year-old tradition that has been passed on over generations. Rath Yatra is a festival that symbolizes our journey of life. As three giant chariots march at every street of the country, people follow the route in hopes of a better tomorrow. This is the only time when you can see floods of crowds at one place, where one can easily get lost. It is a massive event hosted on a tremendous scale. Rath Yatra is celebrated to commemorate the journey of Lord Jagannath and his two siblings, Balbhadra and Subhadra, to the Jagannath temple. Three chariots leave from the Jagannath Temple and take a tour across the city, where millions of people gather to take the blessings of the deities. The government makes sure that the crowd management is taken care of with a range of facilities for the old and the handicapped.
