Raikhad Gate, well-known as Raikhad Darwaza or Raikhad Darwaja, is one of the historical gates of the walled city of Ahmedabad. It has stone arches and an iron-plated door.

After Sultan Ahmed Shah founded the Bhadra Fort in 1411, the city of Ahmedabad began to grow and a second fort was needed for the increasing population.

This second fort of Ahmedabad was completed around 1487 by Sultan Mahmud Begada. The Raikhad Gate was part of the extended wall of the old city. This gate is located to the southwest of the walled city. It stands near Ellisbridge and the Sabarmati Riverfront.

This gate was restored in 2019. During the restoration much was understood about the gate’s architecture and how it was designed to withstand potential earthquake damage.

This gate is located near the eastern banks of the Sabarmati River and is visible from the Riverfront as well as Ellis bridge.
